VCA Attends ALM 3rd Inauguration

MUSANZE, RWANDA — Representatives from across East Africa gathered in Musanze over the weekend as the Association of Liberians in Musanze (ALM) officially ushered in its newly elected leadership team, headed by incoming President Patrick Hans Weedy.

The 3rd Inauguration ceremony, held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, highlighted the growing organizational strength of Liberians living in Rwanda and reinforced regional ties within the diaspora.

Representing the regional umbrella body, Jura Gonyasuo Mangou, Vice Chair for Administration (VCA) of the Federation of Liberian Communities in East Africa (FOLICEA), delivered a grounded message on leadership, community service, and pragmatic governance.

"Leadership should not be a pursuit of perfection, but a commitment to delivery," VCA Mangou stated to the incoming executive team. "No leadership succeeds without failures; what matters is ensuring that our successes consistently outweigh our failures and that we remain accountable to the people we serve."

Reaffirming FOLICEA’s commitment to fostering a collaborative working relationship with ALM, VCA Mangou extended a formal invitation on behalf of the regional body to the newly inaugurated leadership to participate in the upcoming FOLICEA Summit, scheduled for November 27–29, 2026, in Nairobi, Kenya. The summit is expected to bring together diaspora leaders from across East Africa to strengthen community networks and foster collective development initiatives.
